I am a Human Services major which a major for counselors. Taking these classes we talk a lot about personality types. It just cracks me up everytime I read a description of my personality type because of how much it really is me. You can go to www.humanmetrics.com and click on Jungian Typology Test to find out what your personality type is. I am an ESFP. Here is an article describing an ESFP through the ESFP's perpective. It's cheesy....but true.
What’s it like to be an ESFP?I like variety. I like people. I am whatever is happening at the moment. I accomplish as much as I can to keep from getting bored—I find something I like and can tolerate, that I can see myself good at down the road. And I’m almost always up and positive. I always have a compliment and look for the good in a situation. I love the simple things in life, and I’m also interested in people and a lot of different things. I look at life’s possibilities: the excitement of what might come out of a situation and what I might learn about a person and how I can help.
Freedom is the most important thing. If I don’t have freedom, then what do I have?
I love talking to people. Making and having friends is gratifying, and I value my friendships. People see me as someone they can tell something to and not just as boring or average. Somehow I charm people, and I am very genuine in my interest. I observe the game of life, and a lot of times it’s about being open and observant on my part. Whenever I find things getting heavy, I say something light to make everyone laugh again. I am offended when things are impersonal and harsh. Some people are so serious and many people feel guilty about having fun. Fun is important because I can get more work done in a few hours than most people do in a whole day. My biggest contribution is in just listening to what people are trying to do, probing and pushing and mirroring back to them what I hear they’re saying.
I love not having to practice and still being good at something. I don’t like having to do a lot of planning. I want to accomplish something and move on to the next thing. I am really good at pulling things off, especially if there is a last-minute crisis. It’s just a matter of trying to keep things together, doing what you have to do in the moment. Being outside, getting physical, is also something I have a need for. Everyone always wants me on their team. People say I’m lucky.
I want to be of value. And I want there to be an equal exchange. I will give a lot but not so people use me—that limit is a very fine line. Sometimes I don’t have a clue what the person needs, but given enough pieces I can help them solve their problems.

Lord help me...
My goodness I love God! I've been taking a good look at myself and just seeing what a mess I really am. I get myself into the dumbest situations, I'm disorganized, I sin, I somehow can't manage to figure my life out, I can barely stand serious conversations, I'm about half allergic to my feelings, I care about other people's feelings so much that I forget about myself....people...I am a mess. The cool thing about God is that he knows all this about me, and he still loves me. I do the dumbest stuff, and he forgives me no matter what. Sometimes I take what God tells me I shouldn't do and just stomp all over Him and do it anyway. When I am covered in guilt and anguish....He's there. He says, "Amber....now what have you gotten yourself into this time? You know what I wanted you to do, and you didn't do it. But you know, it's ok. I am going to be with you no matter what. I am never going to give up on you. You are my child and I love you so much. Amber, there is nothing you could do to make me stop loving you. You can disrespect me, ignore me, and deny me and I will NEVER stop loving you. I am here for you. I will not leave you. Anytime you feel like your life is out of control, just call on me and I will be there." How perfect is that? No matter how dumb I am, God loves me. I used to be afraid that if I messed up so many times, God would just give up on me. That was a fear that seriously haunted me at night. I've broken down too many times thinking that if I kept messing up, God would just decide I'm a lost cause. The more I put my trust in Him, the more I realize He's not leaving. We've got this process now. We love each other, I screw up, He loves me, I ignore him for a while because I feel ashamed, He loves me, I break down and admit how stupid I've been, He loves me some more, He forgives me, I'm grateful, we love each other. I know, I know. I'm working on the screwing up, ignoring Him, and breaking down part. What can I say? I'm not perfect.
Right now I am in a situation that I could have easily avoided if I had just listened to Him. I knew exactly what needed to be done, but I didn't do it. I'm in a position where I'm probably going to hurt someone, but I didn't have to. I ignored my gut feeling, which I know was God trying to tell me something. I know that I do things that I shouldn't and I nor He is proud of. Why? Why would I spend a second disgracing the one person who will love me unconditionally and who is always with me? Life is so short and I want to live it right. God help me.
I Will Not Take My Love Away by Matt Wertz
I will not take my love away
When praises cease and seasons change
while the whole world turns the other way
I will not take my love away
I will not leave you all alone
When striving leads you far from home
And there's no yield for what you've sown
I will not leave you all alone
I will give you what you need
In plenty or in poverty
Forever, always, look to me
And I will give you what you need
I will not take my love away
When praises cease and seasons change
while the whole world turns the other way
I will not take my love away
I will not leave you all alone
When striving leads you far from home
And there's no yield for what you've sown
I will not leave you all alone
I will give you what you need
In plenty or in poverty
Forever, always, look to me
And I will give you what you need
I will not take my love away

Death
I I was thinking....Every time someone mentions death (RIP Steve Jobs), I always think about my hatred of funerals. I mean, not all funerals bother me....well no...ALL funerals obviously bother me a little, but open casket funerals freak me the heck out. I don't like dead bodies. They're just creepy weird. I mean....can't we celebrate a person's life without staring at their lifeless corpse? I guess it's kind of a dark cynical way of looking at it, but for real, it bothers me. I think everyone should be cremated. I mean, isn't it more appealing to think about sprinkling someone's ashes in a really pretty peaceful spot than putting their pale body in a box and burying it? Just....ew. I get nothing out of looking at a person's dead body. They never look like they used to anyway. I would rather just remember them how they looked before. I mean, if you think about it, a body is just someone's shell anyway. Or...like a skin. I like to compare death to a snake shedding its skin. You leave the skin behind but what was inside keeps living. I mean....the person really doesn't die at all. It's more like the death of a phase than the death of a person. Here's how I want my funeral to go. First of all, I want to be cremated. I know I won't be in that body anymore....so why waste space with a casket filled with my creepy dead shell. Ehem, anyway...yes cremated. Then have a table with pictures of me and play my favorite music (yes...Backstreet Boys will be playing at my funeral XD). Then have all my closest friends and family stand and talk about me....talk about the funny stories, my weird quirks, my dreams, ya know...all that stuff. I know you can never make a funeral a really happy experience, but you can definitely make it less creepy! Funerals shouldn't be about mourning someone's death, it should be about celebrating their life!

Good Ol' God
Have you ever had one of those moments where you can just feel God around you? I just had one of those. I get inspired by God at such random times. Right now it's almost 3:30 AM, I'm sitting in my room, I look about half crazy, hair everywhere, makeup running down my face....but God chose to visit me anyway haha I was talking to one of my new friends. He is one of those people you meet and you feel like you can sum them up in a about a second, but then you start talking to them and you figure out you were completely wrong. When I first met this guy...he didn't seem like the God loving type. He was a little crazy and to be honest he seemed a little pervy. (Apparently I'm just not used to hanging out with groups of guys...because they can be dirty lol) I've always thought I wasn't the type of person to be judgmental, but apparently I am. Never assume you know someone before you actually get to know them...that was my lesson for the day. This guy that I thought was just a crazy dirty guy is actually in a Christian metalcore band dedicated to spreading the word of God to people who typically do not get witnessed to. How awesome is that?? I know what you might be thinking, if the impression you got from this guy is one of a pervy crazy guy, then maybe he isn't doing a good job of representing the Christian nation. I thought that way too. But really...he's no different than me or you. He is an imperfect follower of Christ and doesn't try to pretend he is something he's not. He is real. This is a Christian who is trying to reach people for God. This guy pleasantly surprised me....and that doesn't happen very often. Someone who I thought would just be another acquaintance ended up being an inspiration to me. Something I've tried to work toward for a while now is viewing each person as God sees them. He loves unconditionally, and that's something I want so much. To spread love where I can. We're all just people.......imperfect, broken, precious, LOVED sons and daughters of Christ. <3

My best friend :)
I just had a thought. I was reading my best friend, Hannah's, blog. Let me just tell you that she is one of the greatest people I know! She always knows how to let you know that she appreciates you and loves you. I just want to let her know that I appreciate and love her too! Hannah and I have been best friends since the fourth grade. We were in the same class, and our first impression wasn't the best. I was an angry kid that day and she thought I was a bully! She sat next to me...poor girl HAHA! I didn't really think much of her then, at least I don't think I did. My memory is crap. But ANYWAY! We really started becoming friends at a football game for our future high school. We were both a little shy at first, but then we both just broke loose and we laughed and had a blast for the rest of the night! We always say the night of the first high school football game is our friendiversary. Hannah and I have been through so much since then. She's always been there for me when I feel like my life is falling apart, when I'm on top of the world and everything in between. We were actually roommates this past year in college. That was the BEST! I miss her already. We joke and say we need to marry guys that are best friends too so we can just get a big house together. I still say we should HAHA! But yeah, Hannah is definitely my friend version of a soul mate. She's just an awesome person and I'm so thankful for her. She's one of those people that God brings into your life and you just know that they will always be there....because you can't imagine your life without them. I love you Budrocita!!!!

Hey! How are ya? I'm fine thanks! :)
So, I started a blog! Well...duh. Honestly I have no idea what I'm going to write about in here, but I figured I would start out by introducing myself. My name is Amber. I live in Tennessee, I'm a sophomore in college, human services major, and I'm 19 years old. I'm hoping to become a counseling therapist one of these days because I have a passion for helping people with their life troubles. It's kind of funny how that worked out for me, it seems like I can solve everyone's problems but my own! Eh well, if you can't do, teach! Right now I work at PetSmart as a dog bather. Now there's an exciting job for you! I'm sure you will get to hear many many stories about that place; I'm full of them! I'm known to be a very quirky person...I can be a little "out there" on occasion, but can't we all?? Something else I should say, I'm not much of a writer so don't expect anything too awfully amazing. I pretty much write exactly how I talk! So...yeah! Geez, what else is there to say about me?? Like you know...um...OH! I am still an ultramegasupersonic Backstreet Boys fan! I love all sorts of music though. I think I should be a DJ at some point in my life, how cool would that be?! Ok I'm rambling. Sorry. I'm going to end this now....but I'm going to end it with a video of my face! :D
